I posted about cheesecake on another post, so I figured I'd share, so you can enjoy. Jello makes a no bake cheesecake. I pick one up along with a graham cracker crust. The kit comes with a crust, but no pie pan, so pick how you want to do it. You will also need a can of condensed milk. When you get to your campsite, stick the can of milk in the creek to cool. When it is time to make the pie, follow the directions to make the pie. When it's time to cool the pie, build a little cairn of rocks in the creek, just so you can set the pie in the creek to cool, with out the water running into the pie. Once the pie sets up, put on the topping. If you do this away from camp a little bit, you can really blow peoples minds when you walk out of the woods into camp, and set a whole cheesecake on the table. Yes, you have a pie pan to carry, and an empty can, but there will be a trashcan at some point, and the trail fame you will gain will make it all worth it. :p

It may be tasty. but I assure you, as a native New Yorker, that it is not cheesecake.

On our honeymoon 20 years ago, about 10 days into our 2 week cruise on the Fantome ( now sunk ), the Purser announced that we would be having 'cake with cheese'. "You mean cheese cake", my wife says. 'No, we are haivng cake, with cheese.', insists the Purser. So my wife says, "Oh. I think we call that cheese cake".

Sure enough, it was cake, with cheese.

I've had it out on the trail more than once, and (native New Yorkers notwithstanding) it tasted pretty good to me. :p
