If yours go bad like mine did (for me it was the cinch clip thing) call 1 800 654 2668 for a free replacement. They are 12-13 dollars at an outfitter.

Huh, thanks for the info. I'v been wearing XA Comps for years, and had the laces go on a couple of pair. Appreciate it.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm on my 5th or 6th pair of XA pro's and luckily I've had zero issues.

Goody5534, the new laces are for any of their shoes with the Kevlar cinch-up style. You cut them to length & there are directions for both of the lacing patterns (one that is pretty normal & one that is asymmetrical). After cutting to length you fuse the ends with a heat source. You can view the process on YouTube. All that is to say: yes, even the xa pro 3d ultra.

Baby Sue, thanks. I Have put about 100 miles on my xa pro 3d ultra and the right shoe never stays tighten, but the left never has a problem??? IT SO ANNOYING, any other suggestions... REI has a replacement system for these for $8.50 but your suggestion is for FREE??? These shoes are so COMFY I hope I can resolve this issuue or they're going back.

Yes, free. I just finished putting mine on, and I had a major epiphany. Even when mine were new & worked, I hated the unique laces. When pulled tight there was too much slack. Answer: just cut them and tie them like normal laces! That's what I'm doing from now on. This requires singing the ends of the nylon sheath with a match or lighter . . . Very easy, see YouTube if you wish. If you like the system, super. If I were going to use it I would still make the laces shorter, less slack to get snagged on twigs etc.
