This looks like a nice, ultra light rain jacket. Anyone have any experience with it. I'm thinking of getting one.

The Super Mica (http://marmot.com/products/super_mica_jacket) (8.7 oz, $200) is interesting to me because it also integrates pit zips, something you don't tend to see in a garment this light. I would like to be able to compare the performance of Marmot's MemBrain waterproof/breathable technology to that of e-Vent however. I have a 9.6 ounce Integral Designs Rain Jacket that is pretty nice, but it would be nicer in warmer wet weather with pit zips.

I thought about buying that jacket. I'm a Marmot fan ....

BUT, I chose to go with: http://www.golite.com/Ms-Tumalo-Trinity-25-Layer-Jacket-P46755.aspx. It costs $75.00, weighs only a couple ounces more than the Marmot, has pit zips, and well .... the cost was right.

Weight for larger hikers:

BPL Weights: Jacket (XL): 10.5 oz (298 g)
Pants (L): 7.5 oz (213 g)

I have used a Super Mica for the last year on the AT with about 8 months with trail time. I give it a A- .Breathability is as good as it gets( Some wetting from inside ,even with pit zips).Hood is configured well.It is light and durability is ok for trail use . The zipper is weak. Sizing is good for a big guy and I need that. Overall a good light weight option for a UL kit ---it is not a hardshell alternitive .
