It appears that the terrain in PA starts to level out after Fayetteville. Can most hikers expect to be able to hike 15-20 miles per day or is that unrealistic? I'm referring to an average hiker during good weather.

I think that anyone that can do those kinda miles,won't have any trouble doing them in PA,but due to the rocky nature they may take a little longer to do it,due to cafeul foot placement.The PA Mountains,are not all that,once your on top of them,they only go up and down at the "Gaps".....for the most part.

yeah it really deends on how bothered by rocks you are. and even that, south of maybe bake oven knob you get mroe long stretches of no rock than long stretches that are totally rocks. lehigh gap is the only thing thats perhaps a bit more difficult.

If you start at either end, and are a thru-hiker, 15-20 miles per day is the norm by the time you get to PA.
It's not all rocks. (but there are stretches of Pennsylvania "Bluestone" )
