Journals

What are the "Journals" in this forum? What is their purpose, and how should they be used?

I see the link at the top, and sometimes in a sidebar, but never any introduction or explanation.

The journals in the top navigation bar are separate from the forums. They can be used in a couple different manners. You can use them to post your trip reports or use them just as a journal or diary. They can be posted publicly or privately so that only your friends can see them.
