Can parasites, vehicle fluids or feces get thru water purifier/filters?????

If given a choice of drinking out of a used cesspool, a puddle that is half water, half motor oil, or a small seep coming out of the ground, knowing which one to choose is not a tough decision.
Should not be anyway.
Choose your sources carefully.
Even if a filter is capable of catching the bad guys, it will still clog it up and limit it's life.
ps. there's also the nuclear lake in NY to consider.
Parasites. No.
Vehicle fluids. Yes. Nothing you can reasonably do on the trail will get rid of those.
Feces. Mostly no. If it has viruses in it, then yes, it can get through the filter.
