Trying to dispell some apparent rumors regarding resupply between Millinocket and Monson Maine. Yes, the general store in Monson is no longer in business but the local hostels will shuttle hikers to nearby Greenville. Within the Hundred Mile Wilderness White House Landing is a mini-resupply option and Shaw's in Monson and the AT Lodge in Millinocket WILL do food drops into the HMW. Use your trail guides for hostel phone numbers for more info.

I will be in the HMW for about a week at the end of July, rather close to the AT. Let me know if you need something "stashed". If you want specifics, PM me.

The General Store has had very limited supplies for the few years, it's closing should have little impact on resupply in Monson. Everyone will miss the store owner, though. Tim was the finest kind.
Lakeshore House has a well stocked hiker store - plenty of food to get you Katahdin. The gas station/convenience store has plenty of snackage. Take a zero in town, lunch at Spring Creek, supper at Lakeshore, breakfast at Shaw's. Monson is a great place for your last maildrop, too! Between your maildrop and what's in town, there's little need to head up to Greenville's outfitter and supermarket.
