Have any of you guys and gals used your own car as a resupply station moving the car along the trail and hitching back to the trail head? does this seem problematic or something you have done yourself? Will be in the park july 8 - 21.

Met a guy in VA that would leave his bicycle at the spot where he ended his hike. Would drive back south and hike north, pick up the bike and ride back to his car!

I did a sobo thru in 2009 where I moved my car along the Skyline Drive by means of a hitch twice and then picked up once by a good friend that lived nearby . It worked out great for me with the fact that one of my hitches came mid week from a SNP work crew traveling down the Drive looking for road hazards after heavy rains the night before.

Weekend hitches are much easier to get than week days when traffic volumes are down. You can resupply at the camp stores every 3 days or eat a meal from the waysides.

If you have questions about the resupply option send me a pm.
