Not sure if it's a landmark but the most moving landmark-like thing I've seen was a memorial on top of a mountain for a young boy who got lost and died decades ago.

Not sure where it was but it was very touching.

The Lemon Squeezer in Harriman. Not because it's anything great, but because I remember it from the very first time that I dayhiked a bit of the AT, now over 40 years ago.

Thinking you talking of the Ottie Cline Powell Memorial which sits atop Bluff Mountain in Virginia's Pedlar District.

Greylock's War Memorial is very nice. Also like the Bear Mountain summit cairn in Connecticut and the scruffy, charming Moosilauke summit marker sign. The Tip Top House on Mt. Washington is cool, too, and I'm fond of the summit marker there, too.
