Anyone hiking springer to neels gap july 04 - 07, 2012? My lady going out of town to visit family in ILL. and i can't get off work that long. We always hike together but since i have the time i want to do this section. Got mixed feelings about hiking alone because she always come, so if anyone would like to come pls let me know. I like to hike 8-10 miles all depends on how i feel that day. Thanks HS

You should definitely find other hikers week of 4th on trail. Go it alone and meet some new friends!

I ran into over a dozen folks this past thur/fri. Plus there were a couple groups I just missed larger than a dozen. You probably want have to worry about being alone

I am hoping to be at Springer on the 4th and heading north. Just not sure what time I will get there to start.

Do the people at mountain crossing let you park there for a few days? March 30 I would like to park there, get a shuttle to springer, and walk back. I just need somewhere to put the car.

Large parking lot (but not large enough on nice weekends) 1/4 mile N of Mountain Crossings (Byron Reece). Blue blaze trail from Byron Reece to the AT. Park at the store and you'll get towed.
