Here is an online magazine I just picked up from BPL. Look like a good read

Looks good. I hope they succeed.
The 11th edition just came out a few days ago. Excellent work.

Been reading "Trailgroove" for several issues now. Good reviews of some lightweight equipment.
Stories about different trails with information about them. Also has a forum on their site.
And the best part it is free.

I like Trailgroove better than Backpacker magazine. And it's free to boot!
I love hiking everywhere but I'm a bit east coast hiking burnt out right now. Thx Gramps for reminding me about TRAILGROOVE and the links to MtnNut's site. Like the broader geographical expanse of hikes they report on. I like their trail report content. That High Unitas Highline Tr/route hike is calling to me.

I knew that comment would be made. You don't need to make a one sided choice. Enjoy both.

I knew that comment would be made. You don't need to make a one sided choice. Enjoy both. You knew somebody wold make that comment because it is true. I have been a Backpacker magazine subscriber for over 10 years, and last year they made a number of changes which downgraded the mag in my opinion. I may not reup Backpacker next year.

Ive never read a backpacker magazine.
I have a low opinion of all magazines like that.
They exist only to sell advertisements.
Articles are weak. Reviews are watered down, cannot offend an advertiser or potential one.
I find UK magazines to be the polar opposites of american.
But the trailgroove looks pretty nice.
