The superintendent of Shenandoah National Park just called ATC to notify us that the 5-mile A.T. section in the northern district that had been closed due to the Neighbor Mountain Fire has re-opened. The section was between Elkwallow and Beahm's Gap.

Correction: The section will re-open at noon.

The Byrd's Nest #4 Shelter will also re-open. The following trails in the park remain closed: Knob Mountain Cutoff, Knob Mountain, Neighbor Mountain, Jeremys Run.
