Hey guys,

I'm training all summer for Tough Mudder in September so I can't start the trail until after the race. Anyone else going South Bound starting in September?

I know I'll be racing away from the cold weather, hopefully it won't cause too many problems.

Let me know if you'll be heading my way.

September 1? 15? 30? Since you're training for this event and you're young, you should be in good shape. So let's say you hike Maine in 3 weeks. Unless you're starting early September, you'll have winter conditions in the Whites. If you start late i.e. Sept. 20-30, you can pretty much count on snow in the Presidentials. Make sure you're prepared.

I'll be walking Southbound starting in late August. You'll be passing me, so say hi as you run pass.

September is not a good month to start a thru hike in Maine *or* Georgia....

Actually if he starts early in Sept, it won't be that bad. He'll be passing folks coming NOBO and if he's fast as he says, he'll hit the Whites before they are impassable. He seems to think he can do 25+ mile days, so that's a four month or less hike and is doable.
