Anyone hiking NOBO in the Newfound Gap area in early August? Looking to go for a 5-7 day hike but don't want to hike alone this time.
I am leaving Newfound Gap on the morning of August 2 on my way to Erwin. Not really looking for a "hiking partner", but like the idea of someone else with a similar itinerary. PM me if you want.

My son and I may be starting at fontana on 7/30, if weather looks OK. Might come close. We would hit NFgap around 10am probably on 2nd. We are only going to I-40 though.

I plan to start at Newfound Gap aroun 8am on 8/2, so we should cross paths some time. I will be wearing a Red Houston Astro cap.
