Does anyone have any information on general water/drought conditions in GA along the AT?

Look here:

http://www.georgia-atclub.org/

then click "Hike the AT" tab, then "Hike the Georgia AT" tab, then "Water Sources and Availability" tab.

Sorry I couldn't get a direct link to it.

Thanks. I use to go to Mountain Crossings web site. I think they took the water reports down.

We've had HEAVY thunderstorms here almost every night for a week.

yep, recent rains should mean plenty of water. One thing though, some people see just a trickle across the trail and don't realize the real water is up several feet... like before Wood's Hole, you need to follow the path up to the rocks where the water flows, not try to get it down on the blue blaze trail

When we did a section hike from Woody Gap to Amicalola Falls SP in mid-June, we found a lot of the water sources in AWOL's guidebook were dry or very low, especially near Hightower Gap. Hopefully the rains in the past couple of weeks have helped.
