I am looking for an internal backpack which has about a 70-90L capacity. It will be used mostly for 3-5 trips and will carry around 35-50 lbs. Snug fitting is important. I am 5'7, 150 lbs with about a 31" waist and broad shoulders. Thanks for any help that is given!

If you weigh 150 pounds, you should not be carrying 50 pounds. 20-25% of your body weight would be about right.

Of course, you can do what you like.

I suggest you visit an outfitter in your area, and try a bunch of different packs on. They'll add weight for you to the pack for you. That's about the only way you'll figure this out.

Good luck.

I've got a Dana Designs Teraplane X that should fit you (I'm 5' 8", 170 lbs, 32" waist). I've used the Teraplane to carry up to 45 pounds about as comfortably as you can carry 45 pounds. Send me a private message (click on my ID) if you want to consider purchasing, as I've moved to a much smaller pack for the 20-30 pound loads I normally carry.

There have been numerous other posts with advise on buying a pack. Check them out first, (Or go to your local outfitter),

Like all gear, there is no conscentous on what pack is best for everyone.
