At Vango Abby and plan on being at Kinacora tomorrow. Actually has not rained yet today and if it does not tonight it will the first day with no rain of my 12. Trail still really wet and muddy, which is slowing me down. Got tired of carrying a wet tent and have spent more nights in hostels and shelters than all my other trips combined. Looking forward to the sunshine (sort of like waiting for Godat).

Absolutely - - I'd suggest packing a bunch of raw bacon in it. Don't worry about hanging it or anything - those things are strong - just leave it right in front of the shelter

It did have a gold crown that I could have mailed to them. The dentist said I could have got $10 for it.

ATM, it is moving (the baby). When you are loading watermelons all day in the FL heat, you sweat most of the gatorade out. If you stop sweating, you are in trouble.

You're asking this on Whiteblaze, right? Then it's at least 18.
One to get the a lightbulb, another to dispute the question whether it is a light bulb or an ultralight bulb, 15 more to continue the argument, and a moderator to tell them to knock it off.

Saturday I let myself get dehydrated, in the afternoon I realized it and started to drink up, but it felt empty. When I met Driver later at the road, he thru me a gatorade, orange, the only flavor I can stomach. It hit the spot....BIG. Next afternoon on my way down, all I could thing of was......2 orange gatorades and I'm good, just 2, I'm good. So, I think I'm going to start bringing some of that stuff on warm hikes!

Gave you one as we parted at my car at K Notch, too. Bookend Gatorade oranges. :D Least I could do in exchange for the free ride you gave me around the mountain to my car, which we barely survived thanks to your New Yorkish driving habits. ;)

Coach, I've just picked up these the other day...not as tasty as gator aid, but no sugars either, and very convenient. Little pricey, but they work. Just throwing out a alternative as sugars can cause you to bonk so they say....I still use gator aid powders too, and those gummy fruit chews made by gator aid as well...truth be told i'd pitch all these for a banana and a fresh tomato on the trail.

Shellie's skills have been being honed over the last 6 -7 years in the winter in PB, Broward, and Dade counties in FL on I-95. She's gone from a passive little country hummingbird to a full fledged urban vulture on the highway. Catch her at the right time and she just might shoot a bird.

Man, I don't know how you guys walk in this oppressive heat and humidity, kudos! I don't do well in this soup.

Sadly No, nothing on the boards as of yet...looking to hit the trail again this Fall, likely I'll finish NJ, and maybe go from Swartara Gap to Lehigh Gap at some point this Winter or early Spring. One thing I'd like to do next year is start hiking a little earlier (late Febuary/early March) seems like a nice time of year to hike...weather provide.

He is a knowledgeable chef. In particular a good banquet chef. FN probably knew already. Faking a resume isn't nearly as offensive as the wrong type of person using a bad word. Tarentino can say it all he wants because he is a Star Belly Sneatcher, Paula didn't have stars upon thars.

Yellow, Honey, Grey Pupon... and asked her to taste each one ... Then asked her to pick her Ketchup..

She picked Yellow with Organic - and turned down Heinz, then we took yellow and added real honey and she took it up a notch... kit's ... ha.

Returning to the AT train stop (where we are right now) Sunday morning.

Hey Jacko, I'm glad to hear it, NYC is an amazing city to check out and I'm glad you're getting the chance.

As an added bonus, you should be able to easily find Vegemite in the grocery stores there, if they don't have it, you can definitely find a specialty shop that carries it.

I should have qualified my statement by saying that they don't add stick shifts to the type/trim level that I want. Ideally I want a 5spd, 4WD with leather, wagon or crossover. Nobody I know of sells that combination in the US. (Though I haven't checked all the Jeep models )

My next will probably be either a Wrangler with a 4 door or a Subaru forester. Though I'm *hoping* to get another 4-5 years out of my current car. Though if I give up in he manual transmission, then Chevy and Ford go back to the top of the list.
