Wait, what? Do tell.

Animal Planet - in Maine

Rescue started at 11pm from the wifes call - 10 hours missing, the rescuers walked past him in the night, the guy was about 65 and he was on a blue trail. The trail M. did not know in the night he was in minutes of the road...

The rescue had a cheap Magellan.

I saw them in '78' at the Boston Garden, from the nose bleed seats. I don't think I could have been any farther away, if I was at North Street train station.

If you supersize you can choose one of 2 welcome gifts. I chose the fruit basket. The other choice was "Moderator For A Day". That looked like too much work for my taste.

I came out to help him at the Rally this year for two weeks & have been here since. Slowly making progress, but it's showing. Prom dates suck for me cuzz it's at tail end of busiest time here.

We used to hook up with a group that went to the Ocala Nat. Forest every February and paddle the rivers in the area. The rivers all have long, weird names that I don't remember anymore. I also don't remember it ever being hot like that the times we went.

It's happened every January for as long as I've been reading this site. But yes, the last couple of days have seen more newbie questions than previous years. Most of them are the same kind of questions that I had when I first started, so I'm glad to answer them.

However I do get scared by the occasional post that reads: ""I've bought everything I need, told my boss I'm quitting in March and found someone to rent my house when I'm gone. *I'm going to do an overnight shakedown hike in a few weeks to make sure all my gear works" ... Each time I see these posts I think...wait...you've completed all the logistics of putting your life on hold for six months to hike the A.T. and you haven't yet found out whether you actually like overnight backpacking?!?!

Juniper Creek is a super fun run. It's a float trip for sure. It can be over paddled. You just gotta flow with it and not work yourself to death. One time when Old George was there, that monster of a gator, we came upon that sign at the island that says stay right. Well in our rebellious way we just had to go left. Everything was cool, it was a little bit skinny thats why we thought they told you to go right. Right about at the end where we're to join back with the right side of the creek my wife points to the island bank with her eyes as big as saucers and can't say a word. I don't see what she's pointing at. I was chewing tobacco and I chuck out a big old spit - right on Old George's head, not 3ft away. Didn't even see him. He plunges into the water with such a fury that it rocking the canoe back and forth like it's in the ocean. Scared me to death. I thought this is it. I'm gonna die. That gator's gonna flip us and eat us. I wasn't right the rest of the way. I kept looking for Old George.
