State maps http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/mtGreylock/brochures.htm. You can stop by visitor center & ask. Short hike: Park at campground, up Hopper or Cataract trail to overlook summit & back down Hopper. Long day;park cg, summit, follow AT north, return via Mt Prospect or Money Brook Trail

Looks good. That would get the major climbing done in the beginning. When I did the loop I suggested it was tuff climbing out of the valley end of the day. Also when you get to overlook at AT Jct with Prospect Mt. Used to be able to watch hang gliders & sail planes. Not sure if they still do it.

If you have more than one car Roaring Brook Trail is a fun descent down to route 7.

That's the hike I would recommend - I did it in April in reverse, up Hopper Trail first. As a variant, you could do the Overlook Trail down from the summit. It loops around and rejoins the Hopper Trail near the lower hairpin curve on Rockwell Road and is said to have superb overlooks of the Hopper and northwestward. The state website has very good maps and a link for suggested hikes here. Check it out: http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/mtGreylock/brochures.htm. Hope you enjoy your visit there - it's one of my favorite places. On a very clear day from the summit you can see White and Adirondack mountains, on a good day you can see Wachusett and Monadnock in the east, Stratton, Equinox and Dorset to the north and Everett/Race and the Catskills to the southwest.
