Did you notice that it pans away from the orange before it lights? Plus he didn't work on it long enough to generate enough friction heat to start even gasoline.

I have totally done that... it works honest!

Of course I substituted a bic lighter for the stick, and a gasoline soaked rag for the orange... but the same principal applies!

The oil that comes out of an orange peel is limonene and is indeed highly flammable. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limonene
The 95% of the orange which is water is not.
99% of fake You Tube videos are better than this one.
