When you reach the road crossing in NJ by Heaven Hill Farm in Vernon, you can head to the right (if NOBO) a couple of miles to the wonderful church hostel in Vernon, NJ.
Something to bear in mind however.. If you find yourself in need of new footware (as many do at this point), there is a great store called Sneakers to Boots to the left about 2 miles. Its about halfway between the road crossing and the Shop Rite Supermarket (full resupply) in Warwick about 200 yards across the State Line into NY. The owner Ralph is a really nice guy. The New Milford Deli is a couple hundred yards further if you want a cold soda, sandwich, or an italian ice. You won't find this info in any of the trail guides.
FYI, Greenwood Lake, NY no longer has a supermarket, so if you need resupply to get to Bear Mountain (Fort Montgomery) the A&P in Vernon or the Shop Rite in Warwick are your best bets.
