Does anyone know how far Birdman got? I met him as he was entering Shanandoah NP and he told me that he would keep going til it got down to 15 degrees F. Just wanted to see how far he made it or if he is still on the trail.

I met him in Maryland sometime after July 4th. He went into DC to hang out a bit.

Saw him at Church of the Mountain in DWG on 8/5. He said he was planning on going home in Gorham.

"old" Birdman made it as far as the foot of Mt. Moosilauke sometime toward the end of Sept. The locals at the convienence store he was getting food at convinced him it was too dangerous for him to continue due to snow and ice. He's starting back there July 1. I talk with him every couple of weeks. If I remember I'll tell him you asked about him and he may let me give out his #

Unfortunately "Birdman" had to abort after 3 days in the Whites, due to his knees. I sent him this thread (printed out, due to no computer) and he thanks folks for thinking of him. He's going to get both knees done next month and hopes to return next year at this time.
