have not seen anything like it in google image search, I don't have any info on exactly it is.
It looks like it was made to work with canned food. Do you have possession of this stove? If so, look for any identifying marks.

no I don't have it just saw it on a facebook group site and was trying to help ID it. seems like it must go with a specific purpose so your idea makes sense.

Appears to be an upside-down Edelrid gas adapter. It clamps on to the blue Camping Gaz canisters.

I had emailed my brother the picture to be ID'd. You are correct in identifying it as an Edelrid. He sent me another picture of it mounted to a canister. I know nothing about these stoves, I use solid fuel burners.

Thanks SassyWindsor! I posted this originally on FB not even thinking about WB until gollwoods reposted it. This stove was given to me without any information. It is an interesting design but I think I will stick to my pocket rocket for now.
