Planning on doing some hiking in the whites next week. Anyone know trail conditions or weather?

I live an hour northwest of the Whites at 1800 feet elevation. It snowed here yesterday and the temperature was 20 degrees this morning. Although it's supposed to warm up in the next few days, for safety's sake, you'll need to be prepared for (possible) winter conditions.

At best, it's mud season. Please try to stay off the trails at elevation until late May. Trails are fragile at this time of year. Hiking boots can do a lot of damage while the ground is soft with frost coming out of the ground.
