Saw the movie Moonrise Kingdom tonight. If you were a scout in the 60's or 70's, you must see this. Very quirky, very funny. I haven't laughed so hard in ages. Lots of vintage camping gear. The scouting parody is over the top, but at the same time rings close to home, which makes it so funny. A must see.

Yea, at one point I started thinking "how did he get all that gear in his little vintage pack, then I thought, I've been on WB forum too much. One should not be looking for plot flaws in a movie like this.

I wanted to see it. It showed up. Vanished from the theaters in a week. Showed up again when I couldn't spare the time, vanished again after a week.

Similar thing happened here. It did not open here with the rest of the country, then it showed up and was gone before I could make it to the theater. Guess I will have to wait for DVD/Blue Ray.

Well worth the price of the ticket, unlike most films out there.

It's a really, really great movie. Go see it if you have the chance.
Warning: it may make you want to buy a corncob pipe.

Yes, those small indie films come and go quickly, if they come at all. I loved the "sucking on pebbles to quench your thirst" bit.

But give the kid credit - he didn't need no GPS!

I really want to see this, but sadly, it's not playing in my area.

It will be released on DVD October 16th!
