Is that even on the AT?

No, the AT is probably 3 or 4 miles away. My guess is they drove down to the parking lot on 501 at the James River on got on the AT.

I know, right! I know that campsite they are referring to is not on the AT but it's close. I wondered about that myself. I wonder why they mentioned searching for them on the AT. I'll admit, I can't wait to get the news that they've been found safe and sound.

This story has more questions than answers right now.....just praying that everything is OK.

AMHERST, Va. (AP) - Three hikers missing since Thursday night along the Appalachian Trail in central Virginia have been found.

The Virginia State Police say the women were found around 10 a.m. Friday and are in "fine" condition. Additional details were not immediately available. The hikers are ages 50, 70 and 80.

The hikers were reported missing at 9 p.m. Thursday when they didn't return to their camp at the Otter Creek Campground in Amherst County after a hike.

While the Amherst County Sheriff's Department was the lead agency in the search, a state police helicopter and troopers on the ground assisted in the search.
