Hey everyone!!! so i have a radical idea. I love live music and as I walk to georgia from new jersey this spring/summer i want to see my favorite bands that are playing on the east coast. What major cities are close enough to the trail for me to see a concert for a night? Who thinks this goal is possible at all.

DC and NYC are both easy to get to- I visited both on my thru. In addition, if you plan your town stops in advance you can look ahead at what's going on in that town. Levon Helm was in Rutland, VT a week before I got there. I did catch a small festival in Vermont that was really cool, the Tweed Music Festival- low key, really fun, great music and wonderful people. Of course you'll be hiking south...I hope you like bluegrass!

The trail runs close to Hershey PA where they have a lot of concerts.
I've seen Santana, Allman Bros, and Australian Pink Floyd there. But I read about lots more.
