View Full Version : Army surplus wool
Man I went to our Army surplus store and picked up a bag of wool cold weather gear for _cheap_.
1 Wool mittens that go up halfway to my elbow with thumb / forefinger covered but free - probably so you can shoot with them on.
1 Lightweight wool gloves
3 wool caps
1 wool scarf
1. jacket liner
1. wool balaclava
1 polypro thing that covers your entire head, neck and drapes over your shoulders.. Don't know what it's called but it'd be great in the wind and cold.
Total cost: $39.85 + tax

And how ELSE do you cope with the snorers and/or shelter mice ?!?
Are the gloves the inserts? I got a green fleece like material head covering once. I think it was a helmet liner or some such. Works great for sleeping.
The next step for you is rehab! :D Cool find!

I have 2 Arctic Issue wool shirts. I wear them 3 season. Tuff, warm, even wet. 2 large pockets.
It's not merino wool but it's good, warm stuff and you can't beat the price.

Yea, well the price...ah..... they were at the bottom of my seabag when I got home and ....ah.... I must of not checked them back into supply............Has anyone seen Majortrama......:o
Aren't you afraid you'll blend in too much 10-K? You're new trailname might be "Olive Drab" or "Baa Baa Green Sheep". :)
Prices and selection here are pitiful.

I own very little that isn't some shade of 'olive drab'. I don't walk far enough or fast enough the be around 10K during day light. Besides, I'm only 5'6" and I got all this gray hair[sorry Tom].:D
