you can't drive to tom floyd wayside, its in the middle of the woods. i'm not sure which is closest but i can think of 3 near-ish entry points, one of which involves hiking a side trail up from compton gap. the other involves being dropped off in SNP, the last would involve backtracking up from 522

I feel like an idiot. I need a shuttle from Tom Floyd Wayside to Bears Den Hostel not BDH to TFW. I was told there was a 4H camp close to TFW.
My intention was to park my vehicle at TFW and shuttle to BDH to catch up with my group that I'm dropping off at BDH.
TFW is less than 2 miles from SLD so if the 4H camp site or 3whatever it was is bogus is there someplace to park in the vicinity of SLD South of TFW?

You can access it from a side trail over from the 4H center also. I've heard you can park at the 4 h center. Vehicles have been vandalized at 522.

You can park at the 4H Center but you need to register with them: http://www.nova4h.com/contact/
Tom Floyd is just a short hike from their parking lot up a blue trail and then south on the AT.
The AT shuttle list has contact info on Sharon Johnson or Mike Evans, both good people:

it would probably be cheaper to use someone in the front royal area (another posts mentions a few) than to pay someone from HF to drive 20 miles out of their way. or just hike the extra 20 miles to HF, its a super easy 20, can be done in a day.

Possibly, as I recall I paid $60.00. Well worth at the time (last minute hike las Nov from 522 to HF where I parked the truck). Just trying to provide some alternatives.
