in Philly area boarding houses (flop houses) have such a bad rap that the good ones (for contract laborers) are changing there names to B&B's, but looking at the definition it does refer to use of house and shared meals. :)

And the Widow's Walk in Stratton and the Cascade House in North Woodstock (I don't think I've ever read anything about the CH on this site).

:bananaI've had my share of mentally challenged folks stay with me that's for sure and I am sure I will encounter another one before this life is all said and done. Ain't a one of us mentally right anyway, except for Lone Wolf.....
It's fun to hang out with Larry.And it is good to hang with you, I still have that pic you gave me long ago....

Along with the occassional beef steer! Don't know if they still are, but the new owners of Shaw's still had boarders as of 2008.

Probably a silly question but are reservations taken or required? Which I guess brings up another question. If one is hiking a thru-hike, never done this before, how does one calculate a certain date to be a certain place on the trail when so many factors could result in not arriving on time? Just asking. It's okay to be frank.

I swung by crazy Larry's after a section hike this past Christmas and wanted to thank you again Larry for the hospitality while I waited for my cold beer and cheesesteak at the Blue Blaze Cafe. I'll be back in the summer sometime and will swing by.
Got to stay at Crazy Larry's when I came through Damascus SOBO this year. Great guy and a great place to stay!

I have had a blast so far this season, now to get ready for the TransAm bicyclists. Crazy Larry's just became a member of Adventure Cycling Association.

Ended my section hike at Crazy Larry's this year and had a great time chatting with everyone, wolfing down breakfast, and checking out Trail Days festivities. Thanks, Larry, for your hospitality, and I hope to drop in again next spring or summer to start a southbound section.
