I just received the final proof copies for the revised New Mexico and Wyoming Mapbooks. They are both on Lulu.com and available for sale now. I am currently still processing data for our recent trip to Montana, and will be collecting some trail changes in Colorado this coming week. Once all the data is processed, revised editions for those states should be ready as well. Hopefully, by mid November. (Don’t buy Montana or Colorado at this time – wait until you see the comment on the Lulu listing: “Revised 2012 to reflect recent trail changes”.)

Lulu runs a lot of promotional discounts and you can usually save some money if you wait for one of those. I will post discount codes whenever I become aware of them. The free waypoint files for NM and WY have also been updated. You can download them at www.bearcreeksurvey.com (http://www.bearcreeksurvey.com)

Here is a link to the Mapbooks on Lulu.

If for some reason that doesn't work, go to www.lulu.com and do a search for "Continental Divide Trail"

I purchased the full set of mapbooks last year but still have more trail to hike. Is there some way to buy just the updated maps?

BTW, I think the maps are awesome.

I have received several similar e-mail inquiries from others.

I estimate that there will be about 50 pages of new maps this year for the entire trail. (out of 360)

Once all the new books are re-published, it is my intention to publish two small and relatively inexpensive books of just the replacement pages for the changed segments. One would cover WY and MT and the other NM and CO. To reduce costs, these would be bare bones publications of only maps – no repetition of user information which is at the front of each Mapbook.

The new Colorado Mapbook will be totally revised to match the other three as far as the segment / mileage scheme goes. I am in the process of collecting new data for that now. Some spectacular new trail in the Collegiate Peaks will hopefully be completed late next summer in time for the SOBO group to enjoy.

best wishes,
