Does anyone have recent information on water sources at the shelter's between Clingman's Dome and Fontana Dam? We'll be hitting the trail this weekend and just wondering what the water looks like. Any other information would be welcomed as well. Thanks!

According to the GSMNP website, Spence Field is still dry.

I'm doing this hike too, starting Saturday AM and staying at Russell Field (Spence was full), so a long first day. There is some resupply at the end at Fontana Dam (a small gift store), as well as showers. I've heard that Thunderhead is the most difficult section SOBO. If timing works out, I might be able to be able to drive you back to Clingman's on Sunday, otherwise the Hoch's at The Hike Inn run a shuttle (I think for $110).
