The National Geographic A.T. documentary “America’s Wild Spaces: The Appalachian Trail” is being shown in several cities this fall. The film is not about thru-hiking, and it is available on NetFlix—two reasons some may not want to see it. (The DVD can also be purchased through ATC and elsewhere). But if you would like to see some spectacular photography of the A.T. on the big screen --and become a new ATC member at the same time, this might be of interest.

Each showing has guest speakers with various A.T. connections. Many are recent thru-hikers. This year’s Warrior Hikers (two Marines who served in Afghanistan and thru-hiked this year) are speaking at two showings, and Miss Janet will be speaking with them at the Knoxville showing. Jeff Alt, author of A Walk for Sunshine, is speaking at the Cincinnati showing.

Here are the locations and dates:

Cincinnati, OH Thur. Oct. 25
Knoxville, TN - Sat. Oct. 27
Hartford, CT - Thur. Nov. 1
Cambridge, MA − Sat. Nov. 3
Charlotte, NC − Wed. Nov. 7
Raleigh, NC − Thur. Nov. 8
