WhiteBlaze is a great escape for me. Tired of the news and politics (life) I enjoy taking a break and looking at the pictures posted on WhiteBlaze. It's cool to read the posts about how to hike and ask other hikers questions on how to be a better hiker. Some of the posts have a little to much drama for an old southern boy, but I guess it is all good. Dreaming of a 2 week section hike in 2013. Just a thought that I wanted to share. Thanks WhiteBlaze for a nice break while at work on a Sunday evening. Hike On!!!

Welcome to WB. Enjoy & don't let the naysayers bring you down.

Well, it's been 10+ years for me on WhiteBlaze (plus its predecessor), and I still check the new posts every day.

Cue the inappropriate posts about how you won't need such an escape if my candidate is elected, or you won't be allowed such an escape if my candidate's opponent is elected. No, on second thought, please spare us. Because the original poster is right - WB is a nice escape when you can't go hiking. (I'm wondering whether Sandy might have put the kibosh on my clueless weekends until spring, so I'm in need of such an escape.)

hey before i got married my idea of a long term relationship was a return phone call.
ive tried to break the addiction but the 12 steps always leads to 12 more steps and 12 more

One is too many and one more is never enough.

One friend of mine summed it up pretty good when he said the mountains were my mistress.

Mountain Mike, Sturgis is a real cool town. We come out before bike week to ride and see the country. Get's a little crazy duing the rally, but still fun. You have a lot of nice places to see in Sturgis. Hike On!
