I'm deployed right now with my Air Force unit, so I haven't had to browse the backpacking forums to see what gear sales are going to be going on black friday. Golite and eddie bauer usually have some good sales. Anybody have the scoop on the sales? Post them up here maybe this can be a referance post to get that wish list gear items.
No scoop on sales, but I have something I think that is more important. With Veterans Day coming up I would like to thank you for your service and the sacrifices you make for our country. I am a retired SMSgt with 36 years service (USAF and ANG). Again, thank you!!!

REI has their brand of outerwear at half off om their website right now. Might end at midnight.

Picked up their Event Rain Jacket this evening. Wife has one and she loves it. Pulled the trigger on it tonight as well. We'll see if it 'breathes' as well as it's advertised. :)

I got a 650 fill down jacket at JC Penny. Feels great, weighs 10 ounces with the small stuff sack it comes with and got it for 60% off for $30.
