I met Windmill around Salisbury Ct, walked with him a few miles and gave him a lift to town (Salisbury). He shared his blog page, I saw one update since I saw him. Hope his is OK and wondered if he completed the thru.

when was it that you saw him SC? have you contacted the authorities with your info? just womdering.... this is sad and scary!! i hope he is found safe and sound!!

yeah, this is a heartbreaker and i think we all hope this story ends well. i agree that Starchild should reach out to authorities with any info. it may or may not be relevant, but that seems like something they should decide.

will add Windmill to our prayer lists...

It was way before Nov 2nd perhaps early Sept working on his NoBo so I don't think it would be relevant.

well, you could be right, but if i were his mom or dad...i would want the police to speak with ANYONE he had been on the trail with...maybe he said something that may not have seemed important to you, but may be a VERY important piece of info...i am certainly not implying ANYTHING here, just putting myself in his parents shoes....i would want EVERYTHING i could possibly find out...:o

It won't do any good to have information from Sept when he was going north...already far north of where he seems to be section..whatever hiking.. separate hikes.

We need to be better detectives here... was he seen by Starchild in CT in Sept? Then, he was last seen in PA in Nov.? If it was CT & then, PA he's not hiking north.... So ,there's not telling where he was hiking next....

Wasnt a thru hiker burned alive in gettysburg, PA this past summer? PA doesnt seem to be a trail friendly state.

Just pay attention a bit. Right now he was doing a SMALL hike. it sounds like he did a Thru hike earlier this year and was in CT going north.

It also shows that along with a few other missing hiker posts lately that the tried and true method of leaving an itinerary with family or friends before you go is being ignored. Even on small trips I tell my GF what trails i'm doing and when i'll be back.

It seems Windmill went missing near his home. When I met him he was a bit behind the 'bubble' in his NoBo. It is possible that he skipped over his home area trying to get to Katadahn and went home to finish up there, but really I saw him on a separate (earlier) hike.

jakedatc and Starchild.. I agree with both of u as to the reason he was in PA.... It's a shame he didn't ,as jakedatc said, leave someone the plan of where he was hiking and for how long. Because of that, it may not be a problem, as to where he is right now... do u understand what I'm saying?

Some punks set him on fire but he was treated and released. It could happen anywhere. If I remember he was walking along a street at 2 AM.

Horrible, but glad that he is getting help and also community support. I don't know for sure if that is Windmill the story did not release the name, but may God bless him.

I think you misunderstood. I was responding to someone who mentioned something about a hiker this past summer, not Windmill. It was off topic and I should have ignored the comment.
As far as Windmill goes I can't find any information about a missing hiker in Pa. The OP needs to give more info and a link to the story.

Friend said went on a small hike...last seen heading home after.

He was last heard from in Larksville, Pa after completing his hike was visiting friends left last seen November first, november 2nd his card was used at Mohegan Sun Casino..... His car is missing as well...

Wow... so there is good reason, now, to be very concerned. :( Does anyone think he may have just wanted to drive somewhere else without telling anyone? I guess they could track his credit card purchases if that were the case.

I live in the area, & have checked local media, newspapers & tv, nothing. I have no reason to contact local police, so I'm uncertain of their involvement. I could not find a person by that name on PA missing person list as of yesterday. If he were missing while hiking, I would offer assistance, but he wasn't last seen on a trail. I'm praying he's found safe.

I am his Aunt, he is from Larksville, Pa...... He was visiting at a friends home in larksville, pa...had a disagreement with the friends girlfriend and left.. supposedly said he was going to go sleep in the woods but had his car....makes no sense yet..my number is 570-854-0769. He was not hiking, he was home. Have not been able to locate his car either...checked the hospitals nearby...drove around the area any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... If he did go off what type of places should i be looking for?

He is on the missing persons registry now.. and we are trying to get the information on the news around here but not as easy as it seems apparently....

Thank you for any help you can offer..

Gezzz... I'm very sorry to hear that he is officially missing... this is cause for concern. :( I'm sure if anyone on here has any info they will be in contact with you. I'm glad you got back on here to post current and complete information. That helps a lot!!

As I stated I met him on his thru, he shared some advice and also some of his food and I gave him a lift into town many months ago. There is not too much I can really offer, but have a very good track record in prayer and I am going to offer it as a signal for Windmill to come home through the good will advice he gave me. I really have no idea what will happen, but I know I need to try. I do believe I met him for a reason and hope that this is it. Please support me, pray, send good intentions, meditate, whatever you can and believe that Windmill finds his way home.

I'm no P.I. but you might have more luck getting his license plate out to police in the general direction that you might think he would be going-along with the car description-the power of networking should not be underestimated.
Good luck with your search -I live in Florida, anything I can do, let me know. people are on Whiteblaze from all over the States, it sounds like it is time to look further afield than PA. perhaps he has headed south to a warmer climate to get away for awhile. We get loads of kids and others coming to Florida in the winter...

Thank goodness he didn't kill somebody too I suppose. We all need to think about that. My drive to get the papers in the morning is the worst. Can't seem to snap out of it. I go through a blinking red light about once a week, smarten the heck up, then do it again a week later. Police car coming the other way just after I drove through it yesterday. Glad he didn't stop me, but maybe I shouldn't be. Something about the blinking red early in the morning just doesn't register, but some morning there is going to be someone coming by on the blinking yellow, or whatever it is. We all gotta wake up I suppose, not just the young and the restless.

Glad he's safe and sound - I too hiked with him early in his thru (and Blue Sky too). I have some great photos and memories of Windmills. He shared his water supply with me on a hot day when my bag leaked away most of my water.
