For those who have completed a NOBO thru hike, how many days did it take you to get from Springer to Harpers Ferry? I understand that everyone has their own pace but I am trying to get a feel for what is the average amount of days. I'm looking at a April 1- mid April start. Thanks!

On my flip-flop thru-hike in 96 it took me 64 days and then on my NOBO in 06 it took 61 days and on my NOBO this year it took 58 days but on all three of my thru-hikes it took 30 days to do VA that's with three zero's each time so i guess you can say i am getting faster with time. but count on at least 60 days from Springer to Harper's Ferry, and that's with snow in the GSMNP each time. In 2004 it took me 94 days to get from Springer to Harpers Ferry. I generally average about 12 to 12.5 miles per day and take a zero day about once a week to ten days. Hope that helps,

about 60 days for me and a bunch of others that started the same time i did. this was a comfortable pace and not pushing to do the big 20+ miles each day.

I should add that my mileage per day was 20-25 miles, and i wasn't pushing myself hard either. RED-DOG

On my northbound AT thru-hike I started at Springer Mountain, GA on April 10th and arrived in Harper's Ferry, WV a thousand miles later on July 6th. My trail journal says that was 88 calendar days.

I'd lollygagged in Hot Springs, NC and took a side trip to Washington, DC from central Virginia so that probably means the normal AT northbound thru-hiker would take around 80 calendar days from Spring Mountain, GA to Harper's Ferry, WV.
