has anyone used an EvoPad (http://www.prolitegear.com/site/xdpy/ssg/Sleep%20Systems/Sleeping%20Pads.html)? if so, what are your thoughts? i was looking at this as a lighter weight option to use in conjunction with a lightweight, uninsulated inflatible pad. the weight is low and the price is right, so it seems perhaps a little too good to be true? does it not insulate well?

they work well. I use a 3/16 on top of my air mat in the fall and spring. By itself you would probably want the 1/2"pad

+1 on that assesment. You might take into consideration, the very thinnest one they offer, I think a 1/8' thick one, is obviously less cushy, less insulating, and less durable. You also have to allow for the volume of it somewhere on or in your pack, and obviously the thicker you get, the greater that will be. They cut down simply too. Couple of other places offer them or a similiar version too.

I'm getting 2 yards of 1/4" and 2 yards of 1/8" in the next couple of weeks. I researched it as much as possible on the internet between BPL posts and the manufacturers website so I'm 99% sure its the same stuff. I need to make a 25" wide pad.

Its a no go with this. The shipping was quoted at $48. Ridiculous.

I am. I wanted to try a wider 1/8" pad as a tent floor liner for snow camping. The 24" pad will work for supplementing an insulated air pad.

Thanks JJ for that info. The 24" 1/4" thick Evo foam is what I was looking for. The price is right too with that discount and free shipping. I'm interesting to note any diffrenece in Lawson's Evo foam and the other two I have from two other sellers because not all EVO is equal.
