Hey everybody. I'm thinking of buying the eno ember for my hammock in the next couple of weeks and I was wondering if y'all knew the good, bad, and the ugly about this or if there are any better ones. I have an eno single near right now but might switch to a double nest. Any good ones made by a cottage company??:)

If you are OK with being a pea in a pod, you will be OK with an Ember. I'm 6'2" and I have both a Single and Double nest and I like the Single more. The doublenest has too much material and falls in your face. If that bothers you you can cut it back.

After watching the video, I'd go Hennessy. If a bear attacked you in that thing, you'd be a green pinata for 15 minutes trying to get out of it.

You'd be better off saving up a little more and getting a real underquilt from someone like hammockgear, wilderness logics, or arrowhead equip, etc.

Seeing the Ember at REI, it looks a bit lacking in how much it can keep you warm. It's a pretty thin quilt.

A 3/4 20 degree Phoenix from hammockgear.com should take care of your needs. A small closed cell foam sit pad would take care of your feet. If you have a down coat or vest that can be put on over foot area for extra insulation.

I elected to carry the extra seven ounces and got a full length Incubator from Hammock Gear. Never regretted it. A little sit pad will move around and if it's cold enough to need a down jacket near your feet, I'll bet you'll be wearing it.
