Trade in your boots for a kayak. I know the idea has been floating around for a while and its cool to see its still in the works.

I like the idea. It would have to be billed as its own long distance trip though, saying it is an extension of the AT is silly. But I'd consider doing the trip, or part of it anyway. It's a cool idea and I hope they can find the funding.

kayak down the Chattahoochee River .... it's a tributary of the Apalachicola River, ending in Apalachicola Bay at the GOM. The best oysters waiting for u in Apalachicola!

Minnesota has done something similar with the upper reaches of the Mississippi from Lake Atasca to Minneapolis.

Yeah the idea of SOBOs going from the AT to this river trail is a bit ridiculous.

Minnesota has done something similar with the upper reaches of the Mississippi from Lake Atasca to Minneapolis.

I loved walking over it with my children and telling them it was the source of the Mississippi River, then later in the trip looking down from the St. Louis Gateway Arch and saying, you see that is the river you walked across.
