Greetings. I know it's short notice but my plan A & B fell through. I'll be heading to Porter's Gap tomorrow and have no new master plan for leaving/getting vehicles at their right places. Partner needs to bail Sunday at Hwy 431 so will need a vehicle there. I'm hiking on up to High Point Trailhead (US278). I'm set for a pickup there, but nothing else just yet. Any advice or tips would be great. Thanks and carry on then.........

Have you contacted hikerhostel.com in Dalonegah?

Hikerhostel.com isn't close to the AL Pinhoti. Try the following website;

http://www.hmtc.org/home.html

Solo, aka Hugh Hickman maintains the site and lives near Porter Gap. He eats, sleeps & breathes the Pinhoti.

Thanks folks. I did send an email to Solo but on my work address. Will have to wait till morning to see if he has replied... Tried a message to a couple of the Alabama Trail clubs as well. Also tried my favorite x brother-in-law and he's working nights now and will be out of pocket. Onward to plan D

Tractor,

Lots of Pinhoti planning goes on at this website:

Might find someone close to the source that can help. Good Luck. Should be a beautiful time to hike the Pinhoti. Tripper and I did a section a few years ago in May and the Mountain Laurel were unbelievable.

Update: Justin @ 256-343-9725. He shuttled us from Cheaha down to Porter's Gap. If you don't get him (out of service/range) leave a message. He can be out of pocket for some time but will try to help if he can.
