It would be a crime for AT hikers not to eat breakfast here when they pass through Hanover, NH.

I'm talking about Lou's Restaurant, located right on South Main Street and on, yes, on the Appalachian Trail!

I ate there today. They have a special referred to as "The Green." For 10.95 you get two large pancakes (or two slices of French Toast), two eggs cooked to order (I chose scrambled, toast, home fries, and a sausage patty. It's awesome. As a bonus, the home fried potatoes are cooked (dipped?) in bacon grease! It doesn't get much better than this. This hearty breakfast carried me from late morning till evening.

Go to Lou's. It's a Hanover institution and the food is fabulous!
