Looking to buy a new tent this spring. Any suggestion. Looking at Big Agnes or Tarptent. Looking for two man, light weight and potentially free standing.
look at the lightheart tents...nice stuff really light for the amount of tent you get

i second lightheart. i hammock but really like her tents. maybe she will be at SORUCK, you could look at them.

The Tarptent Double Rainbow weighs 40 oz, has lots of space and can be set up free standing, I like the way you can rig the rainfly as a porch, nice for when your stuck inside waiting out rain.
Lightheart takes my vote as well, have a BA free-standing and a Tarptent, saved up for a Lightheart So-Long Cuben fiber (about 22 oz, two openings, spacious),completely amazing gear........and this is 2012, what is coming out next?
Like using my hiking poles vs poles I have to carry all day to do the same thing.

+1 on the Double Rainbow. Free standing, roomy for two, very light, and impeccably well constructed.
