It pains me to say it since I have a closet full of not so cheap rain gear already but I bought another set at Academy yesterday, $19.99 for the pants and $19.99 for the jackets. Pants weigh 9 oz, jacket weighs 11 oz. If you're looking for a good value in rain gear these may work for you. I'm 6'1", 178 lb, a large pant and large jacket fit me well.
Got a link or brand name?

Magellan is the brand. The material looks like that in my wifes Precip jacket.

Have you tried DriDucks?

$20 for the pants and jacket set. Not very durable but somewhat breathable. I carried the jacket on my thru last year.
I think it's about 7 oz for the jacket.
Driducks are about the lightest and cheapest out there. Great for the PCT, where the rain is less. Not so much for the AT where they get used a lot and wear out.

I just got a Marmot Super Mica jacket on sierratradingpost.com for 97.00 marked down from 200. Pretty happy about that!

I have a set hanging in the basement...been there ever since I bought them...it's light alright but that paper material feels like something to be used in conjunction with a cat hole...just didn't feel right.

I carry the pants as much, if not more, for keeping the mud off when sitting on the ground, I didn't believe the Driducks would hold up to the way I'd use them.
I wish the Dri Ducks jacket could be purchased separately. I'd like to use the Dri Ducks jacket with tyvek pants for the lightweight set up.
