Looking to get a 30-40 deg down quilt to use for spring, summer, fall. Only bag I currently use is 15 deg marmot helium. I would like to use for my 6 yr old son layered in winter also..any decent quilts under $100??

You can make a quilt from a cheap older sleeping bag.
Typically down quilts are high end specialty items. I dont think you will find a new one for $100.
Around $200 will get you one from EE though.

GoLite 1-season down quilt on sale for $120 + shipping right now (http://www.golite.com/UltraLite-800-Fill-1-Season-Quilt-Regular-P46823.aspx). If it's anything like the 3-season, which I own, it's a very well-made and comfortable piece of gear.

That Golite is out of stock.

Occasionally good used quilts are sold for around $100.

A quilt you make yourself is $83 from rayjardine.com.

Agree the RayJardine quilts are the most affordable. Used an old GoLite 20 degree quilt for 3-4 years is the SE, however I recently upgraded to a custom quilt from MLD.

I sleep between trees, making one yourself and gaining the knowledge is useful. My under quilt (hennesy pattern) 800 fill water proof fabric(seattle fabrics) was a pain but well worth the effort.

Golite is releasing a new line of 30 degree quilts sometime soon. On their site it says the z series. They are 850 down using Pertex Quantum GL fabric. I emailed asking for full specs and they don't have them yet.
