...called mountain laurel design to order a pair of event mittens on wednesday afternoon, said i was heading out next weekend and the mitts arrived first class mail today. three days? AND they're busy, so I appreciate the effort. Service inspire you? let us know.
off topic for my own thread -- does anyone bother to seam seal these things?
I've always had good service from MLD. I recommend seam sealing them if you actually want to use them for long in rain. There are a couple of Youtube videos on doing it.
However, I found using a toothpic and slowly working it in around the seams made for much better control in applying just the right amount in the right place. I stuffed the mitt full of papertowels to give it shape and support. I stick the toothpic in the top of the seamseal tube to get some on the tip and work it in the mitt seam and repeat often. When done, I left it on my patio overnight to dry. Definitely took longer then other methods but the results looked much better then I'd seen from others.
