Looking for either a superlight summer bag for 45 or warmer. Just looking for something that will give me a little heat, keep me cozy and enclosed. I've found a pretty light bag 1 lb 2 oz which is the sierra design wicked fastbag summerweight. Its on clearance right now for 130 but it would be nice if i could find a cheaper alternative. Mostly it will be used in my hammock but occasionaly when i got backpacking with a tent i will need it for that. I was thinking about possibly sewing a fleece bag together but i wasnt sure how much that would weigh, would just depend on what weight fleece would be good for that temp.

Used it from Pearsiburg to Glencliff on my thru in 2003. Worked like a charm. On those cool nights I just wore some clothing inside the bag and on the hot nights I just slept on top of it.

A cheep fleece blanket works well for me.
The Western Mountaineering Highlight is a true 40 degree bag, unlike most that are advertised. I've got a review of it in the reviews section.

I'm looking at the same Serria Designs bag too. I'm using a borrowed Serria Designs bag now thats a 30* bag thats super light and unbelievably small. It works better than anything I've ever used. For my opinion on the brand there great. No question it's a great buy.

WM Highlight cannot be had for less than $210 probably.
I remember seeing the Marmot Black Magic talked about a few years ago for being a very light, very cheap summer bag. It's actually marketed as a bag liner but it has a shell and I've read of folks who've pushed it alone below 40 degrees. Anyway, Google it and I bet you can find it for less than $90. It's something less than one pound.

I just purchased a REI travel sack this weekend for a camping trip to an area that was to warm to bring my other bag. I really like this bag and loved the fact that in the morning when it was cool I could wear the bag around camp just by unzipping two zippers and releasing a drawstring, and all done while still inside of it.

It just got warm enough in Ohio to use alone this year.
