Planning on hiking from max patch to erwin in early april. Would a Marmot 40 degree down sleeping bag be a daring move? I am a warm sleeper, my only other bag is a marmot helium 15 which would be a little extreme, and i would hate to buy a middle man bag. Thoughts?
If your a warm sleeper the 40 degree should be fine, but which i carry a 15 degree synthetic mountain hardwear lamina any time of the year.

There will be occasional nights in early April where it will get below freezing. Its not uncommon to get some snowfall in the higher elevations. You should be fine with your 40, or add a liner to your gear. It might be a little cold at first but you should enough heat from being your bag to keep you warm.
