Does anybody have a comprehensive list of what should be done to prepare for a through hike? I know this may be unique to each person but I just want to make sure i'm not overlooking anything obvious. I've done a lot of the big items such as booking my transportation, acquiring most of my gear, and plenty of exercise. I also have future items on my radar such as putting in my two week notice at work and informing all other close friends and family about my decision. I'm a to-do list maker and want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I start on April 1st. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Neon

Here's a book (http://www.amazon.com/How-Hike-A-T-Long-Distance-ebook/dp/B0037CI7HG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358880442&sr=8-1&keywords=how+to+hike+the+AT) that goes into great detail (99 cents on Kindle).

And here's an online resource (http://www.spiriteaglehome.com/THP_top.html) including several lists.

The specifics are different for everybody, but those two seem to cover everything I can think of!

Good luck with your prep, and hope to see you on the trail!

Edited to add: In the "Thruhiking Papers" (linked above), here's the page with the great list (http://www.spiriteaglehome.com/TH_faster.html) of stuff that might need to be thought about ahead of time.
