I was listening to the radio and heard an advertisment about E foods samples. I recieved a 12 entree sample for $14. These are dehydrated foods. They taste pretty good but was wondering if any of you guys and girls have used them on the trail. Would like to hear pro/con about your eperiance. Thanks

I think it's a scam... it's about dooms day- hoarding food hype.. I dont think its a scam. I received the 12 meal sample. May be dooms day. But they say not. They sent me a very slick package with meals and catalog. They are based in Utah. I was just wondering if anyone on the trail has used the food. Today I recieved a call. Teliperson is what really got me questioning when she said that E Food has been around for 30 yrs.

From Utah? Maybe a Mormon thing. http://jozhaus.wordpress.com/food-storage/
My sister is a Mormon and has a whole basement full of food.

I looked at their one week supply package. When I have done this for similar products, I find the same. What they call a week's worth of food is a minimal diet for a regular person - starvation for a hiker. The food looks reasonably healthy (not excessive amounts of salt, artificial ingredients, etc...). They did for some reason have trans fat in the pudding. The "milk" is an add mix of things that give a milk-like beverage and I can find no chicken in the chicken alfredo.

I ordered the same thing a few weeks ago, it's not a scam. The food is good and it is sold for many reasons not just for the hoarders. I think it is a good idea to pack a little bit of this away for very bad storms, floods etc.. I still will use the Mountain House stuff for the trails.
